Creating Environments

Our environment is the invisible hand that shapes our behaviours. And so it follows that our habits are a consequence of where we spend the most time, influenced by the elements we surround ourselves with.

  • And when you get the environment right, you form behaviours, actions and habits that align with the goals you are striving towards; ones that don’t even require thought.

That’s why creating environments, centred around the needs of each athlete, is a cornerstone of our methodology.

We blend physical contact with virtual interaction, the balance determined by the needs of the athlete as a person; it’s an unapologetically humanistic approach.

We run Weekenders, Seminars, Challenges and Camps which provide the opportunity for athletes to solidify great behaviours, habits and actions. This range of physical interactions inspires meaningful change and demonstrates what optimal environments look and feel like.

Designing Experiences

We are created by the experiences we live through – the highest highs and the lowest lows. And those are the memories we carry with us, the ones that shape us.

  • You might live them with other people, but the experience itself? How you live it? That’s unique to you.

It’s this individualistic quality that lies at the heart of what we do. We engineer experiences that consider what it is that’s at the heart of what our athletes do and then we strip out the noise and distraction that so often wrestles for attention.

We know that to get the best out of our athletes, these experiences need to be meticulously designed so they are unique; exclusive to them.

Created only for them. Lived only by them.

You —
The Focused
Performer

Performance matters to you.

Every detail needs to be considered: the physical, technical, tactical and psychological.

Because your goals aren’t abstract statements.

They are outcomes that have meaning, underpinned by processes that guide you through your day-to-day activities.

Age is irrelevant. Mindset is everything.

You are a focused performer: diverse, active and self-motivated, committed to achieving something special.

Your training consists of workouts completed in solitude, but as part of a training group that pushes your limits.

You expect information to be accurate, up-to-date and organised.

Time is precious and complexity is the enemy. Your training is simple, functional and practical. The intricacies of performance are left to your coach and the sports scientists.

The demarcation of boundaries is important. Standards are set. Expectations are high. There is a shared commitment for you to not only achieve, but to strive.

You, the focused performer, deserve an experience that mirrors that of professional athletes.

Sport. It matters to you, so it matters to us all.

YOUR JOURNEY

COACHING
Principles

There is a definitive boundary line between performance and optimisation. They are distinct, but never separate.

The fundamentals of performance might be simple, but its optimisation is far more complex.

But it’s our ruthless focus on the fundamentals that allows us to delve into the intricacies of optimisation, targeting a web of components that work in tandem with each other to drive athletes toward their goals.

RÁS - Coaching Principles

Values based coaching

  • Day in, day out, the values we share remain the same.

These values represent behaviours. They provide a benchmark for us to work towards and form a key component of how we hold ourselves accountable, celebrate the good and identify ways to improve. Ultimately, they help us stand apart and give us a foundation from which we can help you realise a dream.

    • Sport is life

    • Do things we are afraid of

    • The devil is in the detail

    • Eliminate confusion

    • To be the best part of your day

    • Forge bonds

  • But as well as holding ourselves accountable to our values, we have an expectation of you.

You’ll spend time with your coach exploring each of our athlete values and discussing what it means to you. The values may differ, but combining them with our behaviours allows us to find a common ground and mutual understanding which enables us to guide you towards the execution of peak performance.

    • A never-ending pursuit

    • Find your own road

    • Think for yourself

    • Pursue answers

    • Be tough

    • Your goals, your actions

“if performance matters you’ve come to the right place.”

"Before joining RÁS, I was a middle-of-the-pack age-group athlete with aspirations to be at the pointy end of races. After experimenting with some advice from training partners and friends, I decided it was time to get a coach with expertise and knowledge of working with competitive age groupers and professional athletes. After speaking with several coaches, I realised that RÁS was the team for me after meeting Dan. An extraordinary attention to detail combined with an integrated support team and squad training days, gave me the confidence that RÁS was the right fit for me. We're getting stronger, quicker, healthier, and more competitive three seasons in. What I appreciate about having Dan as a coach is that it is more than simply a training plan; it’s an education on how to pursue excellence inside and outside of triathlon. In his pursuit of success, he leaves no stone untouched, and that is something I have benefited from greatly.”
